Hey!
Well very very very eventful week we have been running around like crazy. First off to answer questions. Driving privliges not given back yet mbut might at the end of the transfer. Knee doing alot better. Keeping an eye on it and making sure that nothing goes wrong with it. My districts year mark just passed I know. But my year mark I have no Idea probably like may 10th. No clue over here. But oh well I'll get home eventually. :) But not for another year! I love it! But can you believe it is basically a year!!!! Holy moly!! Time flies! I knew Elder Foulger from school he lives like over by aunt patty. But. Elder Simpson was not trained by elder Hilbun. Elder Hilbun trained Elder Callister and Elder Hill.
We learned how to do Balloon animals from Brother Lindholm, he is a ward missionary and he is a professional balloon guy. It was alot of fun. Tonight we have dinner with them. We will learn more! :)
But yeah. I think those are most of the questions.
Melissa, we had to push her date back to March 26th. The same date as Kelly, Sierra & Kane. But we will work it out. We need to get all of them to church first. So we will be working on that for sure and helping both Melissa and the burkes prepare themselves not only to enter into the waters of baptism but to wear a different kind of white when they enter into the temple.
We had a crazy week.
Monday president layton came to town and did interviews before zone conference on tuesday. I finally found good mexican food (I say good meaning decent) So I wanted to take president there so he and sister layton would get some good stuff. They loved it. Finally they found good mexican food in the SDRCM. Honest to goodness the closest thing to good mexican food is TACO BELL!! But the place is called Guadalajara its really good food. But me and elder hilbun had a scheme that we were going to pay for them. The bill came to me but president demanded it and was like "i will send you home" I said "well I have already been sent home once, whats the hurt for another time." But president got the bill!!! :)
Tuesday was Zone Conference. Oh man! What a wonderful day! Me and Elder Hilbun got to give just a awesome training on working with members it was a blast! I love zone conference. I got to see my boy. Elder Hammond came down and I love that kid. It was awesome. I love it.
On saturday Gene & Nancy Hanson from wright gave us a call and took us out to eat for lunch. It was so good to see them!! It was so awesome! I loved it. We got to reminise. Nancy kept telling me "elder rudd changed my life" I was in tears! Gosh. we were at a restaraunt no need to get mushy! :) But I love these people I have met on my mission! I cant wait for all ya'll to meet them. They are so great. I miss wright most days. But my love for casper keeps growing and growing.
The bertanogles in the ward here im casper (bishop bertanogles brother) are on their way down to phoenix this coming weekend. I gave them my card and told them to look my family up. They might do so. So might be getting a call. just fyi. By the way can you print off a list of some awesome restaraunts in phoenix and mesa and send them to me. They are looking for awesome mexican food. Addresses too. Thank you! But they are excited. They seriously might look ya'll up. :)
The Apostle will be awesome to have in our mission!! After this transfer I honestly think Elder Hilbun might go AP. So either way he will be leaving casper. But then I will probably have one more transfer here and will probably end up in Rapid City. Just how the zone leaders are going. But who knows. It will be alot of fun. every time before transfers its always exciting you could be going to minot you could be going to fargo, sioux falls. Wherever its awesome.
The weather has been awesome here only got below zero a couple times. I just shaved my head. Not completely but pretty short. I thought I was using a three but ended up being a two. Its was a huge difference. But my head gets so cold now. :) I love this mission. Elder Laufenberg is always talking about brazil and all. I know how bad I wanted to go to a foreign speaking mission. But holy moly I am so foreign. I am such a city boy. Now I am being turned into a cowboy. Its funny how I speak. I always worked on my speach for radio and being a DJ. But now I am as redneck as they come. :) I know all these things about branding. horses, drillin, mining, and chew and everything. I tell ya I have been transformed into a Wyoming Cowboy. :) There is a belt buckle in gillette I want to get. it says Cowboys of Faith. :)
I want each and everyone of you who is a member of the church, investigating the church, not as active as you should be to read my words:
Next to the atonement on jesus christ the most important thing that has ever happened on this earth is the restoration of the gospel of jesus christ through the prophet Joseph Smith.

At the age of 14 years old joseph smith received an answer to his prayer like all of us can.
Jospeh Smith was a prophet!!! today Thomas S. Monson is a prophet!!!! The true church of jesus christ is on the earth. Today we are lead an guided by our savior. How comforting it is to know that a prophet is on the earth!! What a blessing that is! Next question: Why are we not listening to his counsel?? Brothers and Sisters his counsel is christs counsel. I love knowing that.
What a blessing it is to proudly wave the banner and stand as a witness that Jesus Christ lives!! His church is here! Joseph Smith is a prophet! DO NOT BE SHY ABOUT THIS MESSAGE!!!!!!!!! Every HAS to know. Brothers and Sisters missionary work is not a suggestion, ITS A COMMANDMENT. Open your mouths! Open your mouths and in the very second your mouth will be filled with what to say. Please help heavenly father in gathering back his children. Please help all of us in returning to be forever and an heavenly and eternal family.

Email 2.22
Hey,
Yes mom there has been some knee issues and all but nothing to worry about. The main reason I called sister layton was to just keep her up to date and she had me cal Dr. Amit. Chelsea my physical therapist called me back and we chatted for a while and nothing severe just been having a bone stick out of my knee. They think it is just swelling maybe scar tissue but its way too hard to be that I think. But we will see. Nothing big though. I wear a brace on it every day and regardless of how much I do it always swells up and I always ice it. So we are doing okay here. Sheridan is not in my zone. That is in the gillette zone but I am sure someone here in casper does it if I need it. But nothing big.
Today was zone conference in Casper we had about 60 or so elders and sisters come from gillette and casper. So we had alot of fun. I conducted the meeting. President & Sister Layton instructed. Me and Elder Hilbun instructed. It was alot of fun. By the way I dont know if I ever told you all but I know how to do balloon animals!! So me and elder hilbun used it as an object lesson. It was lots of fun! I had a blast. Elder Laufenberg (our greenie going to brazil) Hates all the meetings that we have to go to and be apart of. But Elder Laufenberg is from Grangevile, Idaho up by cordalaine. He is an awesome elder. He is a very hard worker and loves to be here. We would love to keep him here.
Well news with Melissa last night President interviewed her for baptism and she is all ready for march 12. She just has to give up smoking and move out of the place she is living with her ex husband/ boyfriends family. So yeah. Weird. But she is down to 2 cigararettes a day compared to two packs!! So that is always good. But she is on her way we might need to reschedule the baptism to a weekend back. But we will see hopefully not.
We also have three more on date for baptism. Kelly (Mom) Kane (Son) Sierra (Daughter) they are on date for march 26th. But she will either need to move out or get married to her boyfriend of 9 years. It bugs me that whole law of chastity deal. I really wish that people would realize what is going on!!! But yes! They are awesome though I love them. They are making alot of progress. The lord will prepare a way. And of course SHE SMOKES!!!!!!!!
Curtis Cameron- Curtis has been taught forever and really good friends with elder pugmire. But, somewhere along the road he didnt know that we believe in a modern day prophet he just thought that we were talking about joseph smith. So yeah! We made a major break through. I love the work we have to do its so awesome.
We just got a sister from Mesa! Sister Hunt she went to Mesa High!!!!!!!!! ugh!!!!!!!! I met her today. She is cousins to the sabins Kristen, Amy and all. She looked exactly like kristen but blonde. I was like hmmm. But she is really nice and me, elder foulger and elder garrard are all toros so we gave her a hard time. But elder garrard replaced me in wright. We go home together now because of the knee surgery. Nice guy.
Didnt get to go to olive garden. Havent used it yet. Its on the other side of town so havent been able to. Been crazy busy. In two weeks we head back to rapid city for zone leader council and then in a week after that we are on our way to gillette for leadership training. By the way this summer there will be an apostle coming to th SDRCM!! But you have to be on the east side of the mission to see him! So I am hoping I go to rapid city!!!!! It would be soooo cool! But yes! No idea who elder simpson is elder hilbun didnt train him. But yeah. We have to head across town soon so I better get going. I am sorry for always sending short letters. Leadership is always going going going. I am so grateful to you all.

Elder Rudd's Birthday
dont know what the hubaloo is about who's bday?!!
Its mine!
I cant believe i am 20 years old. Its really weird. Me & Elder Hilbun opened presents this morning. I love them all. Oh my it was fantastic. It has been a really busy day so far.
Saturday was transfer calls elder hilbun has one more here in casper so nothing got changed. Elder Callister from douglas left elder ryan from 4th ward left and elder bowers is going home and sis. erickson is going home.
Our zone looks like this now

4- elder clinger & ardnt
5- sis. addison & hetling

douglas- elder hall & hatch
it will be awesome. Me & elder hilbun got a interesting call this morning from elder rich the office elder he was telling me well elder rudd i will be putting an extra 80 dollars in your credit card every two weeks. I was like score!!! Wait why? Me and elder hilbun will be training a missionary. He is on his way to brazil but doesnt have his visa. So he could be here for 2 months 2 weeks 2 days we dont know. But his name is elder loughberg I think. I cant remember. Dont know much about it. All I know is that we are training again. It was really weird and funny. But we are excited!!
Melissa Henricks!!!!!!! Melissa was invited to be baptized this week and she accepted. Melissa is getting baptized on march 12th!!! First baptism of someone i have taught that I will see!!!!! We are very excited. Melissa is 36. Her ex-husband/ boyfriend is a member. Yeah I know its weird. its wyoming. But still he has been very abusive but is not in the picture anymore. She wanted to change her life, so we told her we know the way how. She is so excited!! she calls us and asks us what she should read and everything. She has invited 30 people to her baptism. She is so excited!. we told her she had to give up smoking, so she gave me her cigarettes and we burned them in a fire. She is so solid. I have never seen someone this solid. She came to a baptism on saturday and then came to church and brought her two boys. One of her boys can get baptized in april! we are very excited. She is doing awesome.
Charly- Charly is a tough one. he just hates commitment so much! I dont know why. Its so weird. But he is progressing. We are working with him to get to church. He knows the church is true just doesnt want to do anything about it. But the big challenge we are working on is for him just to be able to make steps with his anxiety. Missionaries double as therapists!
Lana- Seventh Day Adventist, wow last night we had a lesson with her wow! It got heated me and elder hilbun had to end it. She believes everything to be true but the sabbath and if one thing is off than all things are. The adventists dont honor the ressurection of jesus. So yeah. Its a struggle. But we are working with her.
Goffs- The goffs are so awesome they are a less active family and are now working towards the temple. He is the head person for schwans here in casper we get so much free food. By the way schwans is fantastic!!! I love the stuff!! But they are awesome very nice dean and michelle goff. we are working with them to get to the temple and become active. Love em.
Watkins- ugh!!!!!!! they are our next door neighbors they are a less active family with kids who are 10 and 9 but the parents will not bring them to church!!! So dumb! We plan on making a ton of noise when we get ready in the morning and bang on our pots and pans and get them up and over to church. Its so sad! The kids want to be baptized so bad! They tell their dad we want to go to church we want to be baptized but they just wont take them its really really sad! But we are still working with them.
So my dj skills have made it to casper. Every dinner appointment everyone wants me to do my voice, I already have been asked to do the elder quorm party newlywed game and the talent show. HAHAHA its funny how fast the news spreads. someone in wright told their brother and their brother told the whole ward!
I was sitting at a baptism on saturday for cayden bertanogle and guess who showed up the bertanogles from wright they all gave me a hug it was weird getting a hug from a 23 year old girl and a mom. I was like ummm hi. Awkward. But yeah, i love all those bertanogles.
Sis. Brummond told me she emailed you. I love her she is the missionary momma. She has records and info about every missionary who has served in the 1st ward. You have to feel out a paper and take a pic when you go over. I love them though. She is awesome. So nice. She is a referral machine too.
The weather is BEAUTIFUL it is 45 degrees right now the sun is shining i love it. NO SNOW!
The presents were awesome. Thank you so much. The sweaters were beautiful. I love them! Very nice. New garments! Very much needed! I love it. I honestly think my favorite was the pictures of all the fam. I was in tears. I miss those two so much. I miss my buddy. Cayden is growing up wayyy too quick!! But he is soooo cute!
tell staci her present was awesome and that she will be getting a picture of me and the beanie. Just been going like crazy.
Its funny how I know when bad weather is coming because of my knee. elder hilbun likes it because we never had to check the weather. its quite funny.
I am so glad I have a chance to bear my testimony. I havent for a whole.
Whenever we are on the road I get to think alot about my savior and all he has done for me. I get to think things through and understand what life is all about. Being a missionary has given me the opportunity to understand what the lord wants of me. This life is a beautiful thing. I am so blessed to be here in wyoming. Everyone asks me well thats a bummer you got sent here. I tell them what a privilge I have to serve the lord period. I love it. I will never have this closeness to my savior jesus christ. I am part of the lords army. I am so grateful to know my heavenly father on a personal level.
Everyday is a gift DO NOT WASTE IT not a second. We have the opportunity to share our happiness with the world. Dont be standing in the supermarket line and upon leaving think oh wow i should of shared with them about the gospel dont think, DO!
The lord can not do this alone. Please share the gospel. Please please please. President monson encouraged in the last two ensigns MORE MISSIONARIES MORE MISSIONARIES! Not just full time!!!! Everyone needs to be a missonary! I cant urge this enough. Members do the finding, we do the teaching. All you have to do is invite the people over so the missioanries have an opportunity to teach them.
I leave you with my solemn witness that jesus is the christ and he lives. We are apart of the most beautiful thing on this earth.

Birthday Week!
Well Hello Hello Hello!
I am in gillette wright now. We are driving to rapid city again today for Zone Leader Council for two days. We drove up last night the roads were so bad so I came up with an idea, STOP AND STAY IN WRIGHT!!!! Oh yeah! So we spent the night with elder hammond and elder garrard. It was alot of fun. It was hard to see elder hammond without me. It was like he was an ex-girlfriend. It has never been that way before but since I trained the guy it was actually hard! hahaha! I was like why isnt he talking about the good times we had! HAHAHAHA! I was laughing at my self that I thought that way though. It was funny. Elder Hammond is doing an awesome job though. I am so proud of him.
The weather.... last week we spent two days inside the weather was below -30 the lowest it got was about -45 so not too bad but its cold. Our tempature gauge on the car couldnt read any lower. But yeah! Needless to say its cold. I have really gotten used to the weather out here in wyoming. The wind chill is what really kills you though. Our missionaries are strong and with the lord we are even stronger and warmer.
So last week me and elder hilbun spoke in church as you know, the rudds in the ward came to church and looked on the programm and were like "what?!!!" did you prepare something?" It was hilarious they came up to me yesterday and were like we had no idea. I really do love the casper first ward. Its a blast.
Well this week me and elder hilbun taught 22 lessons and found some new people to teach and made alot of progress with the people who we have been teaching. I love it. This is such a beautiful thing.
Charly Unegsk- Charly is so awesome. he has been taught for a while. But, charly is afraid of commitments he doesnt like them AT ALL. He has crazy anxiety. We are working with him on that. He is living with his girlfriend (who is brother romeros sister in the 1st ward, Bro Romero's wife passed away whose twin sister is Sis. Bertanogle in wright) Crazy I know! But, I have alot of connections. we are working with charly on a baptisimal date so we can work with him about his anxiety though.
Bunns- We dont know what is going to have to happen with the bunns. I love their family so much, but they dont see a need for the gospel in their life. Sometimes I want to hit people with a hammer and be like COME ON!!!!!!!! But we are working with them and hopefully get them to church again.
Cheri- cheri is crazy. She has so many health problems. But she is so drugged up so much that she cant think. She wants to be baptized but is holding onto catholism. She still does the lords prayer and prays to mary and all. But we are working with her.
Lana- New Investigator.... Seventh Day Adventist. The Adventists belief is not too far off from ours. They believe they had a woman prophet and all but still. I have taught alot on my mission, they can believe alot of things but when it comes to the sabbath on sunday no way no how and absoultely not. Basically that is the difference in there religion. We try to explain it to them and it goes into bashing so its pointless. But we gave her a chapter in the book of mormon to read and are meeting with her on friday @ 7.
I could not believe that article mom!!! EVIT RADIO GOES LIVE!!! I WAS SO BUMMED!!!!! OH MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS AWESOME!!! I PLAN TO CALL IN AND REQUEST MOTAB!!!! But that is so exciting. Elder Hilbun didnt understand why I was so bummed. I was like that is my baby!!! :) But I cant wait to hear how it goes!!!
I love it in Casper. This is the last week of the transfer though. Elder Hilbun could be getting transferred too. Which is crazy. But it can and might happen. I got a letter from Elder Mack Daddy the other day. Still need to write him. But it is so good getting letters. please encourage the ward to write to us. it means sooooooooooooo much. But make sure they send one to wyoming before anywhere else!!!!
I cant believe I am going to be 20 in a week. Isnt that so crazy. I am too old. I need to stop this business.
Me and Elder Hilbun have gone through a campaign throughout the zone. 100% obedience no questions asked. If you have to ask us about it. DONT DO IT. We made magnets, casper zone goals and all. I love it so much. It is a great work. I really enjoy being a zone leader. I love being able to help the elders and sisters. We have three new elders and two new sisters coming. One sister from Mesa. But it will be good. We should get some in casper for sure.
I am glad DR. Rudd is getting settled in. Thats just creepy! No way should there be a Dr in front of our last name thats scary stuff!
The johnsons in 1st ward their little girl was the one who got hit and died. The mom is getting better, she has been moved to denver for rehab. She is doing well. She has been told about her daughter and it was hard at first but the family is doing well.
What a beautiful thing that we have in the church. Charly told us this week that why do you guys handle things so well why are you happy, why why why. The gospel is true, we have a prophet and Jesus Christ lives.
Yesterday we had a baby blessing in the ward and about 15 priesthood holders stood in that circle so tight and compact and squished but wow the priesthood of god was so powerful that day. It was amazing. That showed me how powerful that priesthood was, admist all that happens in the world, heavenly father has given us his authority. We will be protected and we will be safe as long as we are following the prophet.
Many of you have heard me quote my favorite yellowcard song "believe" But Brothers and Sisters "be strong and believe" I have a wristband an investigator gave me and it says "believe" on it. The gospel is true. Learn it, Live it & Love it.

I am in gillette wright now. We are driving to rapid city again today for Zone Leader Council for two days. We drove up last night the roads were so bad so I came up with an idea, STOP AND STAY IN WRIGHT!!!! Oh yeah! So we spent the night with elder hammond and elder garrard. It was alot of fun. It was hard to see elder hammond without me. It was like he was an ex-girlfriend. It has never been that way before but since I trained the guy it was actually hard! hahaha! I was like why isnt he talking about the good times we had! HAHAHAHA! I was laughing at my self that I thought that way though. It was funny. Elder Hammond is doing an awesome job though. I am so proud of him.
